I am an ISSA Certified Fitness Trainer, sculptor/artist, and mother.
While I was studying for my BA in Studio Art, my mother was seriously injured in a horse riding accident. Learning to assist in the recovery process, along with keen interest in brain health, stressed how important it is to be as physically healthy and active as possible. Following my back surgery in 2005 I spent 3 years dealing with constant pain and the weight gain caused by going from an active life to near constant inactivity. In 2008 I began working with a personal trainer to regain my strength and learn how to exercise without causing further problems or injury. Today I am pain free, active, and passionate about helping other people to have happier healthier lives through personal training. I work primarily with older people and with people with challenges not usually addressed with traditional training, and is constantly studying how to be more useful in these areas.
I live in a refurbished 1920s grocery store, where I enjoy working out in my home gym, gardening, and hanging out with my rescue dog Moe. When I am not working at the gym, I do personal training, live virtual training and on line training from my home. There I also enjoy making sculptures and other art. I like coffee, food, comfortable clothes, art and reading.
